Infoferenda offer four different types of radio terminal equipment: Mobile phones • Modems • PC-cards • Routers
The applicable frequencies for these equipments can be summarized as follows;
3G –UMTS – HSDPA – HSUPA
• Frequency for transmission; 2.170 Mhz. • Bit rate, depending on subscription, equipment and available net; download 0,384 – 7,2 Mbit/s upload 0,100 – 2,0 Mbit/
GSM – GPRS – 2G
• Frequency for transmission; 900, 1800, 1900 Mhz. • Bit rate, depending on subscription, equipment and available net; download 56 – 128 kbit/s upload 11 – 64 kbit/s
Infoferenda also have some equipment for the digitalized 450 MHz network CDMA-450.
3G Routers, USB modems and pc-cards
These are connected to a computer or similar devices, to enable communication (transmission) through the RAN (Radio Access Network). Generally these products do not need access to a separate powersource. Apart from this they can have a wide range of technical characteristics.
3G Routers These products enables several computers to share the same internet connection. A kind of switchboard for transmission of data. Technically a router is a network layer device, that determines the optimal path along which network traffic should be forwarded. Routers forward packets from one network to another based on network layer information.
3G routers is different from WAN routers as they communicate through the RAN (Radio Access Network), instead of e.g. DSL. Their ability to use the 3G network as backhaul is either built-in or provided by connecting a USB modem or pccard.
Most routers need access to a separate powersource (12V, 24V, 110V or 220V).
